2009 Desires for the New Year January 5, 2009

I DESIRE:

to leave evidence of a creative and curious life using all the gifts God has given me to fulfill His purposes for my life here on this earth.

to be still in order to know and experience the presence of God daily.

to live a life that blesses others and be an inspiration of what is possible.

to have my uniqueness shine in 2009.

to have clear goals that by year’s end I feel I have accomplished.

to create and maintain loving relationships and cultivate true friends

to have a pure heart, feel a sense of personal peace and live a simple life.

to create purposeful and creative work that gives true value to the world and develops multiple profitable income streams.

to have a sense of humor and be aware of the power of laughter.

to have patience to wait on God’s timing and the wisdom to know when it comes.

 

Great Rewards September 10, 2008

“Obedience is the key to hearing His still, small voice.”

These are the words of Priscilla Shirer from her study Discerning the Voice of God: How to Recognize When God Speaks She gives reference to the following verses:

Psalm 19:11 – “In keeping the [word of the Lord] there is great reward.” (NASB)

and

Isaiah 48:18 – “If only you had paid attention to My commands. Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.” (HCSB)

As I read these words I feel a great sorrow rise up in my heart. I wonder how many blessings I have missed because I was not obedient to God. How many times have I missed hearing God’s voice?

It make me realize that hearing God’s voice is an experience I desire with all my heart. More than anything, I don’t want to miss it. It is a great reward in and of itself!

I feel that God wants me to reorder my priorities, putting Him at the top of the list and obeying Him without question. What about you?
